I'm sure the food was delicious but it was the photo of the box turtle I most enjoyed. After 45 years of having tortoises my last one died 2 years ago. I always like to see them.

Thanks! We’ve had great crop. Momma made a lovely baked fig with Montego and walnuts this week. But she’d draw the line at fig pizza.

My mouth is watering! I have been making preserves that sounds like Donna's recipe from figs a friend with two trees has given me. Yum!

Carol and I are still savoring the delicious fig/baby ginger/pork chop combo we had last night. Grilled 2 bone-in thick pork chops from O'Quinn's Butcher Shop in Pittsboro. New business at 193 Lowe's Drive, Suite 103, Pittsboro. They were moist and tender and luscious. Accompanied by fresh figs and baby ginger from farmer's market, sautéed in butter with a bit of cinnamon and ground cloves. Seasonal perfection.

Great article and recipes for figs. Aiken is my hometown and my dad and brother still live there. I go to Plum Pudding often! It’s a fun store.

Hi, Georgann,

You are feeding a groundhog and I am trying to live trap one.. ....or more. My bait of canteoupe, green beans and peaches doesn't seem to be working, but you have given me an idea. Surely I must try figs! They have nearly destroyed the foundation of my backyard shed, so they must go. The fig salami sounds great and I will definitely order some online.
